Happy Sunday Everyone!

I just returned from a couple of days hanging with my sister in her new home town, and it was good for the soul.  I was blessed and cursed with a fair amount of ambition from the time I was born, which has served me well for the most part....but it also has a tendency to have me overly focused on what I'm trying to achieve most of the time, and not nearly enough on the blessings of any given moment.  I was reminded while I was away from my studio, the emails, the content production, my "to-do" list, and my list of goals and aspirations, that life happens every minute and every second of the day whether you're accomplishing all of those things or not.  It's great to wake up with vigor and vitality fueled by purpose and passion about something....but the end result you're shooting for sometimes never comes, and when it does, is a fleeting moment soon replaced with a new desired end result.  I think that's great and it helps make my life feel meaningful....but sometimes I can get a little too obsessed with that, and forget how many great things surround me even without the achievement of my many goals.  There are beautiful trees coming into blossom, blue skies with gorgeous puffy clouds, lovely people who's company are utterly delightful, delicious food, laughter.....the list is endless, and it's what makes your day to day life worth living.  Taking a short breather from work (which I love), and focusing on all the great things that exist in my life regardless of whether I'm successful or impactful as an entertainer or a teacher was just what the doctor ordered....makes me feel more excited about what I'm doing here, and more determined to enjoy the things around me WHILE I work toward the things I want that I don't yet have.  Don't forget to enjoy the moment and the many things that enrich your lives as you work on your piano skills....you'll keep improving and it will always be satisfying and thrilling....but it can never fill a void created from a lack of noticing what you already have to feel gratitude and appreciation for.
