Happy Sunday Everyone!
Well, I'm back from a 3 week sabbatical that was very replenishing to my spirit and mind. I actually didn't do some of the travel I had anticipated for various reasons, but I took time away from work and didn't do any live streams to give my voice a nice break from the rigors of singing. I feel very refreshed, and excited to start making content again. I look forward to your suggestions for free lessons and performances, and of course I already have several in the queue.
It reminded me to pass along this advice to you....don't be afraid to take breaks from your practicing. I know it seems like you're halting your progress if you don't stay on it day in and day out....but truthfully, sometimes you make your biggest leaps in understanding and execution when you simply step away for a bit and recharge your batteries. The thing I hope I have been able to instill in you above everything and anything else is that the most important thing to accomplish is a love of playing....when you learn to pace yourself and follow your joy with piano and music, you're home free....because you'll never quit and give up on something you love. Take breathers from time to time and let your enthusiasm for playing music build back up....you'll be amazed at what a clear head and renewed appreciation for playing will do for your practice. :-)
